Home At Last

well I know It's been a while but I'm home and sweating like a dog. It's quite warm here in the south. Plus I'm working already. I got a job building water tanks with some mates. My mates 21st was a ripper and we all jammed on stage and the sound was pumpin.

now comes the fun task of sorting out last years Australian tax forms aswell as my UK tax info. Plus I didn't vote while I was in England so I'll probably get a fine from the electrol commision.

Well I'll wrap this blog up with a neat little bow by saying, I'll probably do it all again next year. Seeyas then. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. Rusty - out

Nearly Home

Lost me camera, No photo's sorry. I'm back in London for a few hours then off to Heathrow Airport at 4:30pm. I'm really excited about comin home, and just wanna thank everyone who helped me, who I met and who missed me.

It's about a 19 hour flight including stop overs in paris and singapore. I hope my luggage isn't excess weight because I've only got 8 pounds left and when I leave here I'm going to get some food.

Well if anyone who has my UK number would like my Aus number just send a txt to the UK one and I'll reply with the Aus one. Alternatively, email me at rusty_vee@hotmail.com and I'll sort something out for ya. Ok last blog in England for a while. Seeya ;)

Bath

Ok I'm in Bath, Not A Bath, but the city, ya know. I got a little drunk last night and slipped on the stairs and now I have a big bruise on me back arse. I went for a walk around yesterday and got some very interesting videos.

I don't know if you can see it but in the map below is a key. The "Circus" is like the handle of an old style key, "Gay st" Is the shaft of the key and "Queen Square" is the locking part of the key. Also, the same architect designed the "Royal Cresent", symbolic of the cresent moon. A Masonic symbol.

The Dimensions used in the design of this part of the city is based on the Divine Dimensions. Similar scales and distances were used to make the stone circles and in the temple at Jeruselam. And who says TV isn't a valuable learning tool.

OK I'm going to meet up with Tamborina to get rat arsed.

SNOW GLORIOUS SNOW

I'm soaked through and my legs are chafed from trudging in my wet jeans. BUT I SAW SNOW!!!! First time in my life I got to pick it up and make a snow ball and throw it at a wall. It's wet stuff when it melts.

Well I made it all the way to the top of Snowdon with 2 sanga's, a couple of breaky bars and a Kendel mint cake! Got most of the way up and huddled next to a rock for about 20 mins thinking about turning back coz I started to get hailed on.
Out of the hill fog 2 fella's were comin up the path. Stopped, chatted and then we all continued on up the mountain. They had coffee :D which they kindly shared with me. Walked back down together and they even gave me a lift back to town. Cheers Lads ;)

Well, I'm off to the hostel to pack my stuff coz I'm leaving north wales tomorrow, on to Cardiff via Aberystwyth. Chat ya soon.

Walls in Wales

Left Chester on the train, stopped at Conwy. Went and buggered around the town for a few hours and found the smallest house in Great Britain. I wanted to get a photo of me standing next to it but there was no one else around so I set the camera to time delay, rested it on the small wall and ran to the house really quick.

Then I jumped back on the train to Bangor. Spent the rest of the day relaxing at the hostel.

I will be going to Snowdon tomorrow and off to Cardiff the next day if all plans go according... to.. plan.

I've still got way to much luggage, Hopefully I'll lighten my load along the way, Instead of washing my clothes just throw them away :p. Well I'm off now so seeyall again soon.

Giggle Ow

Thanks Caz, you gave me a chuckle with the last comment. I'm very hung over today because I was drinkin cider half the night with people from the hostel and from work coz I finished work now.

I got some photo's of the other night when they turned on the xmas lights in Chesteresterton but most of em are crap coz my hands were freezing and its hard to take a good still photo with frozen hands.

I'm starting to get all ready to travel now with the light packing and the flim flaming. Excited about being home soon, might come off the plan wearin just me shorts and socks. The temp difference will be huge.

Anyways seeya.

I'm gonna send it off when i get back to Aus to see if they can recover the HD and ALL my photos since I've been travelling and even the ones from when I travelled Aus. My music isn't a problem coz Kerold has it all on his compy at home. I hope I can get em back. Well I'm staying at Marcus' place this weekend so it'll save me bout £50. Should be interesting, LOADS of drinking tho. Ok well I'm off to the pub to apologize for not turning up.

Last Days

Tonight is my last day at the pub and next weekend i'll be smashing em back as quick as you can say gran ma's wearin camo gear!

Well I managed to book the first couple of nights in Bangor (First stop on the 9 day journey to London) and got hold of Tambe-rina in Westbury. I'll be going south from Bangor to Caernarfon then down to Aberystwyth and Cardiff in Wales. Then over to Bristol and bath for a couple of days. I booked my bus ticket from Bristol to London on the 29th of Nov and it only cost me £4!

Now I'm trying to sort out my mobile phone, because if i don't use my sim card for 3 months the number gets shut down and re-entered into the system = Not Good!

Well I got more things to do today so seeyall soon. Home in less than 3 weeks.

Blaggin' Me 'ed

Hmmmmm, i'm trying to sort out everything at once instead of one thing at a time. My head hurts because of it.
It rained again today but luckily I was already in work, so I didn't get wet. Some fella decided that next to my bed was the toilet the other night. He was sleep-weeing.

I'm being a good boy and not spending all my money on alcohol, mostly because I don't have any of my own money. Dave Matthews Band have helped me through the last few hours here at the library.

Well I better get back to it otherwise I won't make it home for christmas. Seeyas

Party Time

I have to stuff around with lots of papers to get my tax back, because its about 30% of my pay. And I need that money. Perth is 9 hours ahead of my time here in England at the moment. Quite strange. There was a massive polish party for one of the fellas birthdays. 15 bottles of polish vodka were obtained especially for the night. They got kicked out tho for being too noisy :( A couple of crazy Polish girls (Ewa and Aga) wanted to straighten my hair last night. NO CHANCE! Right now I'm in the library trying to sort out phone numbers, train tickets, bus tickets, stuff... And I've only got 17 mins left so I better go. SEEEEYA

Chester Zoo

Today is the first time in years I've been to a zoo. It was cool, and really cold. Todays max temp was 13 Celcius, and I was up and about at 6:30 this morning (Pete's fault for ringing). Buggered if I know why, but I had a day off work. So I packed a couple of sangas, couple o bits o fruit, bottle o water and a camera.

Got there around about 10:30am with no perticular plan other than to look at animals. Walked around for AGES! Monkeys, Lizards, Penguins, Elephants, Goats, Snakes, Giraffes, Jaguars, Lions, Crocodiles, Kangaroos, Emus... those last few aren't to exotic. Anyways I took loads of pics too. So here they are hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

And on that bombshell, (been watching to much "top gear") It's time to end the show. Seeyall soon.

I still haven't got a job but I have actually been looking. It's a mates birthday tomorrow so were havin a doo. Drinks and Food and all sorts of fun. I'm tryin to teach an older guy called John how to play guitar. I'm not much of a teacher, but he's a good student.

I just watched like 3 episodes of Heroes but I'm getting annoyed at the fact that I haven't seen all of the episodes previously and it ALWAYS says "to be continued..." There is so many episodes left too. Well I'ma watch Family Guy coz its like at least a double bill. Happy Chappy. Night!

Been To So Far

I whacked together a map the other day and drew out where I've been so far.

I'm in Chester still and I WILL be getting another job pretty soon. Theres a crazy Irish fella here, goes by the name of Marcus, he does. Hes a bad influence. Those Irish and there whiskey.

I got wrecked last night with a group that stayed at the hostel. Didn't go to bed till bout 8am then got woken up about 3:3o or 4pm, so now I'm really tired. I'll head off for some grub then bed time. Night.

Man Flu

yeah, so I'm not feeling to well. Last couple of days I had a sore throat and little bit of an upset tummy. I had to buy a new phone today because me old one is busted. Same number an all.

Not much to report really just that I'm covering cost with the job at the pub, and still haven't found a second job yet. There's a guy here called Chris who has very kindly allowed me to use his lappy and the internet here is free.

I've started recording a few tunes that I wrote over the last few months. I've started forgetting some of them so it should be good to have them on mp3. And my new phone takes video and records audio aswell so if anyone has a phone that accepts MMS video's, let me know.

Anyways, I'm off now. Seeya.

Fun Times

This is the first time I've managed to get a library computer to use blogger... woot!
OMG it even lets me use my card reader! This place is amazing! Pitty I can only get 30 min intervals. BUT ITS FREE!!!!

This is a guy called David, he's staying at our hostel for a little while.

If you didn't figure it out, he's a street entertainer.

Ok well I have to ring some places and ask them if they will give me money in exchange of physical work on my behalf.
BOI!

Workin'

Sorry yall, I been working pretty full on this weekend and doin lots of nothing during the week so that leaves no room for blogging.
When I finished work last night we all went outside to watch a scrag fight, was great fun.

Well the answer to the head count, there is infact 17 people who do not belong in the picture and 1 Eader Bunny...

Now I must be off, because internet is expensive and I have a very limited supply of money. Seeya :D

Well Rested

I didn't end up going to bed yesterday when I got back to the hostel. Instead I sat and watched a couple of movies while it rained outside :D I went shopping today, got ready for the week ahead... Well half of it anyways.

Just killing time till 4pm when I have to go back to "The Slug" and give them my bank and work details. Here's a pic I stumbled upon, very silly. As a little test, count how many people are in this photo that are out of place. If you think you know the answer post it in a comment. I'll reveal the answer in the next post.

Ok times dead I gotta go. Seeyall soon!

New Job!

I got kicked out of the hostel this morning. Again. Well I got this new job and the lads from the pub took me out for a few drinks. Got back to the hostel at about 2:30am and played my guitar with some Irish lads... till 5:30am.
Then this morning I slept through my alarm and missed check out, so they came knockin on my door at 10:30. So still drunk I arose to pack my bags and move on. I look a right mess today.

I'm half way between the 2 hostels at an internet cafe but I can't be bothered goin the rest of the way. I'm not sure what to do for the rest of the week now. I need another job because this one is only Friday and Saturday work.

Ok I'm gonna trudge on the rest of the way and go straight to bed. Ni Night all.

The Other Side Of The Dee

I got kicked out of the hostel this morning. They said they were fully booked. Luckily I knew this a few days ago and arranged another hostel for tonight and tomorrow night. Back to the old one on Sunday. This new hostel is a YHA hostel so it's a £17.50 instead of £15 but it looks better. It's an older building and has loads of space.

That is the reason for me having to move hostels. Everyones in town for the Chester Races. Today has been insane but tomorrow will be busy too. LOADS of slappers around. You know the girls that wear big black boots, short skirts and tight tops. Well slappers are a chunky version of those girls. Having said that... there is an abundance of non slappers too :D!

On that note I'm going back out to walk around the street ;)

Family Facts

Last night I got REALLY drunk with some Polish fellows. One of them picked my Croatian surname instantly. He even told me how to pronounce it correctly. So I found out alittle about my fathers side of the family. Happy Chappy.

Well since I can now upload videos to my blog, heres a few from before.
Inverlochy Castle At Fort William

The Petrified Wall at Mother Shipton's Cave Park in Knaresborough.

River Tyne at Newcastle view from the Millenium Bridge

With Ray and Vera on the coast, Kite Surfing

My favourite one of all... Belfast Bonfire!

I've got a better video of this but some people may find it offensive :(

Well, I went for an interview this morning (serverely hungover), but they called me earlyer on and I have a trial on Saturday at 7pm. Good ol' English pubs! So reliable. Ok time to go now anyway. Hope that'll keep ya goin for a little while.

Chester

Well since I last posted, I stayed another couple of nights in York then went on to Chester, just out of Wales. The cities are very similar in style, both with city walls, a market and a large cathedral.

I got some salami sticks from the genuine german meat stall at the market place. Made some new friends, walked around the city walls, drank some grog... all that jazz.

This inside the oldest church in Chester.

This is one of the stalls at the market.

And a typical Cheshire street

The Roman's were so smart... Underfoot Heating

And my favourite of all.... Itchy Squizza

Kay, Lunch time and I'm going to a job center to find me some money. SEEYA!

I've Gone Museum Mad!

Today, I got up late, Had vegemite on toast an juice, went to Jorvik Viking Centre. I managed to swindle a concession ticket, so it wasn't as expensive as I thought it was gonna be.

They started off taking us down in a... "Time Machine", which had "Time Travel Turbulence" (the seats rocked back and forth slightly) then all of a sudden we over shot our time destination. So we each had to hop into Time Pods to travel through the old Viking city of Jorvik.

When that finished up I went over to the York Castle Museum and also managed to get in on concession prices. The founder of the museum has re-created the "streets of olde" using "olde" materials.

He started collecting the old doors, window frames, genuine fire carts and old candle making machines. All authentic and you can actually walk into the buildings down the street. There was an old lolly shop, toy maker, police station and gaol, school, fire department, the works, all set along an old cobbled road.

Well that was todays fun-ness, now for yesterdays walk around York. Started with the River Ouse and some local wildlife. These two thought I had some food for them, the food was for me. Tee Hee.

Went over to the castle and Clifford's Tower.

Then onto York Minster on the other side of town.

I went to all these places via the Castle Walls.

This is an old Ice Room for keeping snakes...

No just kidding, Obviously it was for the ice they collected in winter, to be used in summer. Then over to the Yorkshire Museum Gardens for a nice view of a ruin.

Well this place is about to close and I'm getting hungry so I best be off. Oh and I rang up for the job again, no luck :(

Oh well seeya next time.

York It Up!

Got the train to York this morning from Harrogate. While I was waiting, a steam train came through. Both sides of the train station were packed, then when the steam train left... everyone else did the same.
I ended up getting a good hostel not to far from the station. Rang up for a job in a pub today an all. Gotta wait to hear back from them.

After lunch I headed over to the Castle Wall around York center and then walked, and walked, and walked. Good views of house tops and peoples back yards. Then on to a bottle shop. All that walking worked up a thirst only quenchable by alcohol. Well I supose water might have worked.

First thing tomorrow it's off to Jorvik Viking Centre and the York Castle Museum after that.
I think I got a little bit of sun today. I had a surprisingly cold shower, although quite enjoyable.
Ok, I'll get on the net cafe tomorrow with some pictures. Till then take care.

On Ilkley Moore Bar T'at

Everyone knows that age old saying, "When in Rome..." Well I'm in Yorkshire but I'll be buggered if I'm gonna sing "On Ilkley Moore Bar T'at" like they do. Well I did however, have a HUGE Yorkshire Pudding with roast beef and loads of rich gravy! No Risk.

Well since my last post, Ray and Vera took me down to Leeds so we could go to the races with friends of theirs.

Next day, out and about in Leeds, to see where mum and her family lived before they went to Australia. My mums the little one with the cheeky grin. The little devil.

Then onto Angela's house in Harrogate. Went out for a lovely dinner where I had the encounter with the Yorkshire Pud. Stayed at Angela and Paul's place last night and again tonight. I went for a drive with Anj this morning out to Knaresborough to see the Viaduct.

Also visited "Mother Shipton's cave" and the "Pertrefied Well", I made a wish, but I can't tell you what it is otherwise it won't come true. Short walk around and Anj found a secret garden.

End of that we had lunch... Pork Pies. Quite tasty but cold and there loaded with gelatine, so a little slimy. Then Angela went home and I walked around the town for a few hours. Through the city gardens and to a spot for a fantastic view.

About 2 hours later I was out of the gardens and into the pub, but not just any old pub. The Oldest Pub In Harrogate! Great place. They had pipes coming up out of the bar like bunson burners with a flame to light cigars, and the like.

Then made my way back here on foot via a music shop :p Y'all know me. Off to York tomorrow morning, first thing coz Angela will be off on holidays starting tomorrow. Might see about getting a job... fingers crossed. Well I'm tired and need a shower.

So talk to the bunch of ya later.

The Coast

Woke up with a hang over, went back to bed. Got up at about 9:30 and Ray cooked up a massive fry up. Bacon, eggs, sausages, potatoes, toast... The works!

Went for a drive to the coast with Ray and Vera. Stopped at Bamburgh so I could see a REAL beach, not one of those dodgy shingle or shell grit beaches. Got a decent photo of Bamburgh Castle too.

Nice place.
Went on to Beadnell to see 12 kite surfers all in a small bay, crazy windy.

Then off to Craster, "Home of the Kipper" and a pint at the pub while Vera had a nap in the car.

Well were off to the pub for a couple o night caps. Big day tomora, going to Leeds and to the horsies. Seeya
